Mark Borzomato

Mark is an experienced corporate finance practitioner with 10 years deals experience in advisory, principal and investor roles.

He is a qualified chartered accountant and spent the first eight years of his career with Ernst & Young, latterly as a senior executive advising numerous companies, management teams and investors on a wide variety of mid-market transactions. Mark subsequently joined BNFL as group corporate finance manager where he played a fundamental role in a number of corporate transactions, including the $5.4bn sale of BNFL’s U.S. operation – Westinghouse. His role included strategic reviews of the various aspects of the Group to identify acquisition and disposal opportunities, project management of large, and complex cross border transactions and the commercialisation of various aspects of the business.

Mark joined AFM in 2006 as investment director to the £40m Venture Fund and has led several large deals including the £1.1m MBO of a leading watch repair business, an £800k expansion package for an educational software company and a significant investment into a revolutionary software company.

Little known fact: Originally from the North East, Mark is still a Middlesbrough season ticket holder.
